National Stress Awareness Day - 5th November 2025
Stress can be defined as "the adverse reaction people have to excessive pressures or other types of demand placed on them".
Flight or Fight is a one-off reaction to a perceived challenge or pressure, a safety response, ensuring the individual is alerted to possible threats, allowing them to take avoiding action.
However, continually being in this state may cause ill health.

Telephone Counselling is as Effective as Face-to-Face
A recent research study indicates that, "...similar clinical outcomes can be achieved via the telephone as are obtained in face-to-face [therapy]".
Furthermore, the alliance between therapist and client, as well as levels of empathy, attentiveness, participation and openess, are equivalent as in face-to-face therapy.

For convenience I can offer telephone counselling sessions, as necessary and where appropriate, having completed specialist telephone training.
